Dumas Beach is an urban beach along the Arabian Sea located 21 km southwest of Surat City in Indian state of Gujarat. It is a popular tourist destination in south Gujarat. This beach is famous for two things- first, its black sand and the latter , it is haunted. Surat is the fastest growing business destination in the state of Gujarat. Surat has beautiful beaches, ‘ Haunted Dumas Beach‘ is one of them. Many people lost their lives here as per the belief of local people. As per the belief of the local people, if you do not believe in this story then spend a night at the beach. Dumas Beach was also reported as one of the most haunted places in the Gujarat state by the Economic Times.

As per the reports, so many people had been disappeared at the beach mysteriously and never come back. In the past, this place was used as “Hindu Burial Ground”. That is why this place becomes haunted place of Surat.

Earlier this beach was a place to burn the dead bodies. According to the Hindu ritual, people who do not get eternal satisfaction roam to the place where they get cremated . Legends even say the black sand is due to enough amount of ash which mixed with sand.

Thus, it is also categorised as the most haunted beach in India. It is strictly advised not to enter this beach after dark. As many tourists who entered this beach in dark are still found missing. None actually know where have they disappeared – except the one who was found dead with his tongue stretched out of his mouth- hanging out.

There are also some people who have walked along the beach at nighttime who complain that they’ve heard strange noises that instruct them not to go by the water and to turn back instead. Some have also said that the winds here are filled with strange, hushed whispers.

Dogs are known to have a slightly wider spectrum for noise, including paranormal phenomenon. Those who own dogs here will oftentimes complain that they behave weirdly near the ocean. People also complain that dogs who live by Dumas Beach haunted bark and howl all night long. Some people even claim that their dogs have stopped them from strolling on the beach late at night while others say that they’ve been chased by the dogs in the area as they’re running away from the spirit.
